Beginners Guide to using Generative AI for Business
How should entrepreneurs and functional leaders think about generative AI for their business? What is the relevance of Gen AI to business processes? And how can entrepreneurs make better informed decisions and increase productivity through the use of Gen AI?
This introductory course offers a beginner’s guide to the world of Gen AI including potential use cases by business function. We offer a hands-on introduction to using common AI tools that are useful for businesses, and consider the kind of functions and areas where they may be applied. We find out how AI driven data feed into decision-making and more efficient processes. We learn how to think about the impact and return on investment of AI implementation and how to lead in a rapidly changing AI-driven scenario. We guide you to consider how Gen AI may be applicable to your organisation and business. We also discuss the pitfalls of AI including working with low-quality data, and ethical implications of Gen AI.
In this course we will cover the following aspects:
1. Introduction to Gen AI and the AI landscape including what it is, and why it is important for businesses to look at and understand AI.
2. Examples and use cases of how AI is applied in different business functions and sectors, as well as new business opportunities emerging out of AI.
3. Introduction to AI Tech-stack including common tools such as Chat GPT, Bard, Gemini, and Llama. The role of vector databases, and free vs paid resources and tools. Prompt engineering and examples of good and bad prompts.
4. Introduction to the latest popular tools like OpenAI Gpt-4o, Anthropic Claude 3.5, and Meta Llama 3.1.
5. Leveraging AI tools in your business: how AI tools can be used in common business domains, functions and processes, how AI-driven data feeds into decision-making. We will look at AI implementation examples from Sales, Marketing, Content, Human Resources, and Supply Chain functions.
6. How to explore Gen AI potential in your own business, and how to think about the impact and return on investment of Gen AI implementation.
7. Responsible AI: Ethics, Bias, Regulation
8. Role of leadership and change management: how to lead and manage AI-driven change.
This course is for anyone who wants an introduction to how Gen AI can be used in business. In particular we welcome participants keen to know how Gen AI can be used to for better data-driven decision-making, as well as improve productivity for their functions and business processes. We welcome business owners, managers, entrepreneurs, self-starters and others with an interest in the potential role of AI in business processes and functions, and its implications on decision-making, leadership.
